Our toddler program focuses on maintaining a nurturing environment where children learn through play. Freedom of movement and expression are an important part of a toddlers overall development. Teachers and caregivers at Pal’s ensure our toddlers are provided ample opportunities to exercise newly found and quickly developing physical and mental skills.
Cognitive abilities begin to blossom at this stage so children are introduced to short structured primary learning experiences through table activities, learning centers and, circle time where they begin to learn concepts of color, size, numbers, letters, and pre-reading skills. Vocabulary is a focus and children begin to master language through examples of staff verbal communications throughout daily routines and learning activities of the daily program . Toddlers begin to learn they are part of a classroom community at this stage. Teachers and caregivers work with the children throughout their daily experiences to assist them in developing beginning social skills. Our holistic approach that focuses on nurturing relationships within a developmentally appropriate and active learning environment prepares toddlers at Pal’s for successful transition to their preschool years.
